Flying Start for New Fertility CentreAssisted Conception Australia
After just three months, Brisbane’s newest fertility centre Assisted Conception Australia (ACA) is off to a flying start. With a ‘hat trick’ of pregnancies in the first three couples treated and with a promising pregnancy rate, the unit is going from strength-to-strength.
Directors Drs Clare Boothroyd and Steven Fleming are delighted with ACA’s success and their first couple, are over the moon. ‘After trying for over six years we are absolutely delighted to be expecting,’ they said, ‘and the best part was when we saw the heart beat of our new baby for the very first time.’

ACA’s directors are also committed to improving fertility treatment through education and research. They helped organise the recent Fertility Society of Australia meeting held here in Brisbane; and ran one of Greenslopes Private Hospital’s most successful series of GP education evenings.
Scientific Director Dr Steven Fleming also published his research on a new technique for sperm separation (work he intends to continue at ACA), and has edited a new textbook for embryologists, due to be released May 2009.
The unit’s first patient information evening will also be held in May 2009, so come along and discover the causes of infertility and the latest in fertility treatment. You can also take a tour of ACA’s custom built facilities and attend the launch of the new ACA patient support group.
