Babies Galore at ACA baby party
On Sunday 24 July, Greenslopes Private Hospital’s new conference room was transformed for Assisted Conception Australia’s (ACA) third baby party. This fabulous event was an extravaganza of pink balloons, pink cupcakes and a face-painting fairy – magically creating mini tigers, geckos, princesses and butterflies, with magic wands and sticky fingers.
With over 90 babies, toddlers, family, and mums-to-be the party was a huge success. As the children danced around and the babies were cuddled - new parents, doctors and nurses swapped stories and memories, and caught up with new arrivals.
During her welcome speech, Dr Clare Boothroyd acknowledged the amazing work of the ACA social organisers and the entire team, without whom she said the success of ACA would not have been possible. She also referred to the book “Battles with the Baby Gods” saying she believed ACA struggled with them everyday, and she offered new parents luck as they continued this battle with their beautiful new arrivals.
After the speeches the raffle prizes were drawn, including a bouquet as big as a 4 year old, and ACA’s social organisers Clare Jamieson, Fiona O’Hare, Margie Parry, and senior embryologist Dr Vi-Khiem Hua cut the delicious birthday cake. Eventually the strollers were loaded up and balloons tied and the party sadly came to an end, but everyone at ACA looks forward to an even bigger baby party next year!!!
