“First Babies for New IVF Centre"
Assisted Conception Australia (ACA), Brisbane’s newest fertility centre is excited to announce the birth of their first IVF baby. Emily is the first of two babies born in April and she heralds a new era for ACA and Greenslopes Private Hospital - where she was conceived.
Nine months ago, Emily’s parents travelled from Cairns to see fertility expert and ACA Medical Director Dr Clare Boothroyd, after trying to conceive for over six years. They were the first couple to receive fertility treatment at the new centre and the first to achieve a pregnancy.
Directors Drs Clare Boothroyd and Steven Fleming are absolutely delighted for the couple. “Being able to help someone achieve their dream of starting a family, and being involved in all of the emotional aspects of creating a new life is just magical,” says Dr Boothroyd.
With many more ACA babies due in 2009, everyone at the centre is looking forward to the future; and ACA’s nursing and reception staff are organising a baby party to celebrate the first anniversary of ACA’s launch. The party will be held at ACA on Saturday, 25th July; the birthday of Louise Brown, the World’s first “test tube” baby.
If you are interested in fertility treatment, Assisted Conception Australia will be holding FREE fertility seminars at Greenslopes Private Hospital throughout the year. With talks about the causes of infertility and the treatments that can help achieve a pregnancy, these events will also include a tour of ACA’s custom-built IVF facility and laboratory.
